Description
The Unoaked Reds mixed case contains 12 bottles of the best unoaked red wines and caters to those who don’t “do” oak. I would also suggest it for white wine drinkers who say they don’t like red wines. I suspect most white wine drinkers will love the fruit-forward character of these wines. With no fermentation or ageing in oak, the focus is on fruit and a lighter style of wine, though still complex.
All these unoaked red Wines with Attitude are from my main list. I don’t include any cheap “fillers”. It is actually quite hard to find wines that have not seen any oak at all but I have included wines from different grape varieties and they vary sufficiently to enable you to sample a range of the red wines in my portfolio. What these red wines all have in common is that they are well made and of excellent quality – and with no oak in sight!

2 x Domaine des Fonds Fleurie 2021
This is classic Fleurie with oodles of fruity flavours like cherries & kirsch with rose petal & savoury notes. Light in style, it can be served at room temperature or slightly chilled and is one of the few red wines that will match well with fish.
2 x Viberti Pubblicano Dolcetto Dogliani DOCG 2021
Viberti Pubblicano Dolcetto Dogliani is an unoaked red wine from the Dolcetto grape. It tastes of crunchy red fruits, dark cherries, pepper and spices, has had no sulphites added and is an elegant red wine.
2 x Domaine des Pasquiers Gigondas AC 2020
This organic unoaked wine has been described as a Gigondas that’s capable of embarrassing many Chateauneuf du Papes. It’s beautifully perfumed; the concentrated and complex flavours do not disappoint either.
