Description
Mixed case of sparkling wines and champagne: I have curated especially for you a mixed case called Spectacular Sparkling Wines, It includes nine of my lovely sparkling wines – two bottles of three different wines and one bottle each of six wines. It includes:
-
- my long-standing favourite non-vintage champagne, de Castellane, which is fairly difficult to get hold of in the UK
- an amazing Blanc de Blanc Crémant de Bourgogne, sparkling wine from Burgundy that is made from Chardonnay by the champagne method
- perhaps the only Prosecco that I will drink from one of my favourite Italian wine producers, Guerrieri Rizzardi
- Nyetimber’s flagship Classic Cuvée English Sparkling Wine (very like champagne but fruitier and fresher)
- a Blanc de Noirs English Sparkling Wine from Sussex produced from Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes
- a lovely pink English sparkling wine from Lyme Bay
- a white Cap Classique from South Africa, great value sparkling wine made by the Champagne method but fruitier and terroir- focused
- a zesty rosé Cap Classique wine, a sister wine to the white
- a sparkling wine from Penedès in Spain that opted out of the Cava appellation to differentiate itself because it’s a step up from Cava/.
And the mixed case of sparkling wines and champagne is reduced in price, making it excellent value. What’s not to love in this mixed case of bubbles?
What's Included?
2 x de Castellane Saint André Brut Non-Vintage Champagne
For toasting at weddings, birthdays and other special occasions and for drinking with canapés, smoked salmon and other oily fish, shellfish and fish generally, chicken, turkey, mushrooms, truffles etc.
1 x Guerrieri Rizzardi Extra Dry Prosecco NV
This is no cloyingly sweet Prosecco; if you’re looking for a really refined and subtle Prosecco to quote Tom Canavan, look no further. Probably the best Prosecco you will ever taste.
2 x Colet Tradicional Extra Brut Classic Penedès DO 2018
Think of this as top-class Cava; Colet opted out of the Cava DO to differentiate its wines from cheap Cava flooding the market. This is 100% organic, has rested on lees for 24 months giving it heaps of character, fruit and savoury flavours.
2 x Manoir du Carra Blanc de Blanc Crémant de Bourgogne NV
Tasted blind, this old vine Cremant de Bourgogne could easily pass for Champagne; it’s slightly fruitier thanks to the 100% Chardonnay and a fraction lighter in body but makes a refreshing alternative to Blanc de Blanc Champagne.
1 x Lyme Bay Sparkling Rosé Brut 2014
Vintage English Sparkling Wine and an amazing alternative to Champagne; full-bodied, complex flavours and a long finish, delicious!
1 x Nyetimber Classic Cuvée Multi Vintage English Sparkling Wine
Nyetimber’s flagship English Sparkling Wine is an amazing alternative to Champagne; full-bodied, distinctive toasty and spicy aromas and flavours and a long finish, delicious!
1 x Krone Borealis Cuvée Brut Cap Classique 2021
I wasn’t looking for another sparkling wine but had to take on this one when I tasted it. A fruity, fresh champagne style wine that is very quaffable makes a refreshing alternative to Blanc de Blanc Champagne.
1 x Krone Rosé Cap Classique Cuvée Brut 2021
South African sparkling wine from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, Krone Rosé Cuvée Brut Cap Classique 2021 is fruity pink sparkling wine with fresh red berry flavours.
1 x Ridgeview Blanc de Noirs 2015
As a fan of Blanc de Noirs champagnes, I was delighted to find this Ridgeview wine in a similar style; produced from Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, this white vintage English sparkling wine exudes flavours of red fruits including cherries plus sweet spice and toasty notes.
