Description
I have long loved Lyme Bay’s vintage English sparkling wine but Lyme Bay Chardonnay 2018 has changed my thoughts on English still wine. It is delicious. There are so many different styles of Chardonnay, some more fruity and some more oak-influenced. This one strikes the perfect balance retaining its fruit flavours of apple, subtle peach and lemon but displaying a light touch of spice, honey and pastry. It’s a real crowd-pleaser – in a good way!
Food Pairing
Like many Chardonnays this wine will work well with richer dishes such as foie gras, chicken, ham, pork or veal in creamy sauces, parmesan cheese, mushrooms and truffles. But it is light enough not to overpower lighter dishes such as fish, seafood and chicken.
Serve at: 10 – 12°C
Producer's Notes
“Our Chardonnay is a well-rounded dry wine, with subtle buttery flavours and aromas of peach turnover and honey. Lightly oaked, this wine lends itself perfectly to many food types.
Pale/medium gold. Subtle buttery flavours and aromas of toasted oak, lemon, lime and tropical fruits. Exceptional length, creamy texture and elegance with lingering acidity. There are apricot and citrus flavours, with a touch of honey, nuts and toffee.”
