Description
This mixed case of French Classic Wines showcases three red and three white French wines (two bottles of each), all of which are considered classics – and the wines are all from the Wines With Attitude main list. Cheap “filler wines” are never added to Wines With Attitude’s mixed cases.
French wine sales in the UK have fallen over the last twenty years or more as the wider “New World” wine region continues to improve its wine offering and its marketing. But there is no denying that France still produces some fabulous, very recognisable and sought-after wines. In addition France is closer to home and so it could be argued that drinking French wines is helping the planet more since a much smaller carbon footprint is involved compared to that of Australian wines for example.
After deciding to curate this mixed case of French classic wines, I realised that I had set myself a near-impossible task. It was very difficult to narrow down my choices but in the end I included a very elegant Left Bank Bordeaux (Cabernet Sauvignon dominant), a Red Burgundy, a Châteauneuf du Pape, an unoaked Chablis, an amazing Muscadet and a very refined white Burgundy. See the What’s Included tab for a summary or click on the gallery of photos of each of the wines to see a larger bottle image. The contents of this case may change from time to time depending on which wines I have in stock but you can be sure that they will all be great versions of what are considered to be classic French wines.
If you would prefer a case of all white French wines or all red French wines or a case of six of these French wines, contact me by email. Or check out my other mixed cases. Santé!
