Description
Famille Perrin Châteauneuf-du-Pape Les Sinards 2021 is a beautiful fresh style of Châteauneuf du Pape produced principally from Grenache Noir with just a touch of the other classic grape varieties, Syrah and Mourvèdre. The 2021 vintage was known for its freshness. Grenache brings rich fruit and structure to the wine, Syrah elegance and perfume and Mourvèdre some savoury notes, colour and further complexity. The wine is more medium than full-bodied and will develop further; it opens up whilst in the glass displaying complexity and elegance. Some Châteauneuf du Papes are not ready to be consumed for a number of years but this one, with some grapes from younger vines, can be enjoyed immediately.
I really love the texture of Famille Perrin Châteauneuf-du-Pape Les Sinards 2021; it fills the mouth with a silkiness rather than being creamy and at the same time the wine’s finish is deliciously mouth-watering. with warm ripe red fruits – raspberries, cherries & plums – and light notes of pepper and herbs of the local ‘garrigue’. The wine from each grape variety is vinifed in a mix of wooden and stainless steel vats to ensure that the fruit flavours dominate; once blended the wine is aged in large used oak barrels to give the wine further texture and complexity. This is a really “grown-up” wine.
